The after midnight express is a convenient, safe and value for money way to travel in and out of the Central City after midnight on early Saturday and Sunday mornings.

There are four after midnight express services that leave the inner city at 1am, 2am, 3am, and 4am. There are four after midnight express services:

• Route 1: Styx - Northern
• Route 2: Ilam - Northwest
• Route 3: Sumner Beach - Seaside
• Route 4: New Brighton - Eastern

Travelling times: 1am, 2am, 3am, and 4am.

It does not run on:

• the morning of Anzac Day (if this is a Saturday or a Sunday)
• Easter Weekend
• the morning following Christmas Day (if this is a Saturday or a Sunday)

For a $6 cash fare you can travel any distance along any of the four after midnight express routes.

You can also use your Metrocard on the after midnight express ($6 fare applies - your Metrocard must be in credit for $6).

The after midnight express will stop to pick up or set down passengers as and where required. To catch the bus, simply hail the driver (by waving your hand) and you can catch a ride - simple as that. All four services will stop when signaled (by pulling the cord above the window, or pressing the button).

Deviations to the route are available on request and if time permits. Remember, you can catch the after midnight express to travel into town as well as catching it to ride home.
