From Monday 13th February 2012 Metro will be running a trial where bikes will be allowed into and through Central Station while on board the bus bike racks. The trial will run for approx 3 months and if successful will become permanent.You are welcome to take your bike to or through Central Station during this time. If bus providers or Metro have any issues with the trial it will be stopped immediately and could be stopped without notification. Please be aware that if this happens you will be dropped off one stop before Central Station and you will need to re-board one stop after Central Station. Also a reminder; the maximum insured value of any bike on the racks is $1500.00.

Please remember loading and unloading your bike is up to you. Always load or unload your bike from the front of the bike rack.
Remove any loose items from bike that could fall off while bus is moving. Let driver know you're going to load your bike.
- Squeeze bike rack handle up to release. Lower rack.

- Lift bike onto rack with front wheel facing toward yellow support arm and fit wheels into clearly-labelled slots.

- Raise support arm over front tyre so the hook rests on the top of the front wheel.

Let the driver know you will be unloading your bike and exit via front doors.
- Unhook and lower support arm from front tyre and lift your bike from the rack.

- If no-one else is using the rack, squeeze handle and fold bike rack back up.

- If you're taking the bus, it's free to use the bike rack.
- There is a $2 (one way) charge for taking your bike on the Diamond Harbour ferry.
- Cyclists are responsible for loading and unloading their bike.
- The bike rack takes two bikes at a time. If it's full, wait for the next bus.
- Bikes cannot be carried on buses travelling through Central Station. Cyclists using bikes must board or disembark one stop before or after Central Station.
- Racks are designed to carry bikes with wheels larger than 16" diameter.
- The maximum insured value of any bike on the rack is $1500.
